JMPMB Erasmus Mundus Joint Master in Marine Biotechnology

The JMPMB Erasmus Mundus is a two year, full time Master of Science program in Marine Biotechnology. It is taught entirely in English and offered by six leading universities within the EU CONEXUS alliance. The program culminates in a joint diploma and is designed to provide students with a strong academic foundation and practical experience in the field of marine biotechnology. It focuses on developing future experts who can harness marine organisms, such as seaweed and microorganisms, to drive innovation in sectors including health, cosmetics, and food production.

Students enrolled in the program receive training in a wide range of subjects such as biochemical and genomic prospecting, biomass production, compound extraction, and functionalization. The curriculum also includes research internships and a final academic thesis. Throughout the course of study, students participate in mobility across partner universities and have the opportunity to specialize in one of four thematic tracks: Innovative Bioproducts for the Future, Blue Biomass, Marine Biorefinery, or Aquaculture Biotechnology.
